After suffering a lot of backlash for the lack of diversity in its nominations this year, the 88th edition of The Academy Awards has announced 'Beasts Of Nation’ breakthrough child actor, Abraham Attah as one of the presenters at this year’s Oscar's.
The young Ghanaian actor was added to the third batch of personalities who will be presenting an award, including Micheal B. Jordan, Patricia Arquette, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Jennifer Garner, Russell Crowe, Common and Rachel McAdams.
The academy made the announcement via Twitter.
Previously announced presenters included Quincy Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Carell, Jared Leto, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel and Andy Serkis.
Producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin said in a statement: “Through their work, these artists have shown us the unique, transformative power of cinema. We are delighted they will be joining us on the Oscars stage this year.”
This year's event is slated for February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and it will be hosted by Chris Rock.
