All hail one of Africa's most prominent musicians, Angelique Kidjo as she won the Best World Music Album for "Sings", at last night's Grammy Awards. This is her second consecutive win in that category as her 2014 album Eve, won last year.
She was announced winner ahead of the main awards ceremony last night. This makes it the third Grammy award for the Beninese-born singer/songwriter.
Angelique dedicated the award to all African artists.
"I want to dedicate this Grammy to all the traditional musicians in Africa, in my country, to all the young generation," she said.
"Africa is on the rise, Africa is positive, Africa is joyful. Let's get together and be one with music, and say no to hate and violence," she added to applause.
Very well said Angelique, Africa is proud of you. Congratulations.
