A notorious armed robber, Johnson Kombian has been sentenced to death by hanging by an Accra high court and the sentenced was arrived by a seven member jury put in place to hear the case.
Kombian was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in October 2010 after he was accused of ambushing and killing two police officers and leaving another injured in the Nakpanduri area in the Northern region.
He is said to have escaped from jail in Tamale in 2010 under very weird circumstances as described by police and prison authorities and escaped twice from the Tamale Prisons, twice from Togo and once from the Gambaga Prisons. He was serving a five jail term before his escape.
