Husband and former manager of music superstar, Celine Dion has sadly passed away after long battle with throat cancer. Rene Angelil is said to have died in their home in Las Vegas on Thursday morning. He was 73.
People confirms - “Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” a rep told the mag. “The family requests that their privacy be respected at this moment; more details will be provided at a later time.”
Rene was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. His health got so bad last year that Celine Dion had to take a leave of absence from her Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace to take care of her husband. His death is however said to be completely unexpected as he is reported to have recently felt much better and had even planned business meetings together with his wife.
He had three children with Celine - 14-year-old, Rene-Charles and 5-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy. He also has 3 other children from a previous marriage.
