Stonebwoy continues his winning streak by picking up the 2015 All Africa Music Awards, (AFRIMA) nod for Best African Reggae/Ragga/Dancehall Artist. Wiayaala’s ‘Africa’ also won Best Music Video for director, Stanley Adjetey.
There was more spotlight on Ghanaian music with Wiyaala performing her award winning song as well as her collaboration with Ahmed Sultan’s ‘This Is Who I Am’. Ghana’s first rock band, Dark Suburb also hit the stage to showcase their unique sounds to Africa.
The AFRIMA is designed to promote the distinct rich African music worldwide. It was hosted in Nigeria, Lagos at the Eko Hotel and Suites. The ceremony saw numerous African entertainment industry players gracing the stage and in attendance.
South African rapper Cassper Nyovest bagged home two awards as his rival AKA scooped an award for Best African Collaboration. Diamond Platnumz was the talk of the night after he scooped the enviable accolade of the night, Best Artist of the year in Africa, the Tanzanian singer also bagged home Song of The Year alongside Best Male Artist (Eastern Africa).
