The 2015 Ghana Movie Awards (GMAs) came off last night, December, 30 at the Accra International Conference Center and ‘Beasts Of No Nation’ was the toast of the night, winning all the awards it was nominated for.
The film received 12 nods on the night including Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Cinematography. Idris Elba won the award for 'Best Supporting Actor' while the movie’s breakthrough child star, Abraham Attah picked up the awards for Best Actor in a leading Role and Discovery Of the Year.
Yvonne Nelson’s ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes' also picked up Best Actress In A Leading Role for Yvonne Nelson and Best Actress in Supporting Role for Rebecca ‘Becca’ Acheampong. ‘Freetown’ won Best Screenplay and Ghanaian international actress, Akosua Busia was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
