Sarkodie Sued By Russian Promoter For Failing To Appear For Show: Check Out Writ

One Lawrence Ampene Larson Darko, a Russia based Ghanaian DJ and promoter, has served rapper, Sarkodie (Michael Owusu Addo) with a writ, claiming the rapper owes him a total $11,656 in damages for an event that was meant to hold in Russia for which Sarkodie didn’t show up for.

According to the suit Lawrence filed at the High Court in Accra, he heard of Sarkodie's European tour back in June and decided to hook him for a show in Russia and they agreed on a fee of €8000. He then paid half of the money, made preparations for the rapper and his team to get their Russian visas, and proceeded to promote the show. He hired a venue, got event organisers to sell the tickets and made several preparations for the show - which all did cost him money.

However, Sarkodie and his team did not apply for the Visas in Ghana as agree on but rather, applied for it in France which they were refused so they were not able to make it to the show. He then asked for a refund of his money but got only €2000 and no apology. Thus, the charges are for cost of promotions, accommodation and travel expenses accumulated in preparations for the show.
